Field Day is the weekend of June 23-24, 2018
!!!!!!Main Objective is to have Fun with Amateur Radio!!!!!!
The team is planning a 3A operation so there will be plenty of operating positions. Operate the mode of your choice. Operating Awards Operating awards can be earned. See below for additional information. The Site This year’s Field Site is the same as last year: Wyandotte County Park Shelter House F 126th & State, Bonner Springs, KS The entrance to this shelter is off 126th street. Just across from the amphitheater. The Schedule Setup starts at 10:00AM Saturday June 23th Operations starts at 1:00PM Pot Luck Dinner @ 6:00PM See below for information. Operations ends at 1:00PM Sunday Afternoon.
Field Day Pot Luck Dinner This is an annual event. Emergency Management will provide the hamburger and buns. Everyone bring a dish or desert to share. The dinner will be at 6:00PM Saturday night. !!!!!!!!!! This is a feast that cannot be beat !!!!!!!!!!.
Radio Equipment
The Comm Trailers will be there but We are planning to operate from the Shelter.
The high temperature is forecasted to be in the low to mid 80s. Wow!!!! Perfect for operating out of shelter.
The team is encouraging the members to bring their radio equipment to use at field day. HF, VHF, UHF, antennas, all will be welcome.
We will also be using new light towers and generators.

WYCO RACES FIELD DAY AWARDS There are several operating awards that operators at the WyCo RACES Field Day can earn.
For the operating awards contacts can be made in any mode or band. For example, if the operator makes contacts in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska using 20M voice then later makes the Iowa contact using 40M digital then they earn the FEMA Region 7 Award. Dupes do not count. This makes accurate logging most important. Here are the possible awards you can earn. FEMA Region 7 Award Awarded to the operator(s) or operator/logging team(s) who contacted a station in the states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa. Texas Award Awarded to the operator(s) or operator/logging team(s) who contacted a station in all the ARRL Texas Sections of West Texas (WTX), North Texas (NTX) and South Texas (STX) Florida Award Awarded to the operator(s) or operator/logging team(s) who contacted a station in all the ARRL Florida Sections of Northern Florida (NFA), West Central Florida (WCF) and Southern Florida (SFA)
California Award Awarded to the operator(s) or operator/logging team(s) who contacted a station in all the ARRL California Sections of East Bay (EB), Los Angeles (LAX), Orange (ORG), Santa Barbara (SB), Santa Clara Valley (SCV), San Diego (SDG), San Francisco (SF), San Joaquin Valley (SJV) Sacramento Valley (SV) Farthest Station Award There will be an award for the operator or operator / logger team who making the geographically most distant contact. Most contacts in a single hour Award There will be an award for the operator or operator / logger team who makes the most contacts in a single hour.
The Most Sought After Night Owl Commendation For spending the night there will be the very special, and most sought after, Night Owl commendation.
